Save the Date!--Buffalo Exchange Celebrates 40 Years

Hi all!

I was contacted by Buffalo Exchange marketing department asking if I could help spread the word about their 40th anniversary tour around the U.S. They will be visiting each of their locations in a vintage 1960's airstream! How cool is that?!

I was extremely excited to be contacted by them because some of my all time favorite vintage pieces have been bought at Dallas' own Buffalo Exchange and under $20.  You can see them here and here.

The 1969 airstream was salvaged and turned into a pop up shop commemorating their 40th anniversary.

So what's so special about this pop up shop vs. the brick and mortar locations?

IT'S A VINTAGE POP UP SHOP!!! Usually at the brick and mortar locations, you never know if you're going to find any vintage clothing. Now don't get me wrong, you can always find designer and unique gems there. It's just that vintage is such a tricky thing to shop for unless you specifically go to a vintage shop or etsy...but you'll usually have to pay an arm and a leg for it. There will also be a good selection of western wear.

A little more about the airstream:

The airstream is from 1969. It was refurbished and designed by Buffalo Exchange. With the interior design they kept in mind what their theme of the company is; recycling. The shelving units are composed of repurposed vintage suitcases and a sewing machine cabinet. The clothing racks are made out of plumbing pipes which also happens to mimic the racks to the original location in Tucson, AZ. You will also see pictures of the founder & president Kerstin Block and her husband Spencer in the first location and at the beginning of the company.

As for the outer design of the the airstream. Buffalo Exchange contracted tattoo artist Allyson Bennett to give it a "retro cowgirl" feel.

Not only is this a fun event, but it is giving back to charity.

Buffalo exchange is known for giving back to charity through different campaigns such as Coats for Cubs and more.

For this event, they are supporting the Buffalo Field Campaign. The campaign is all about stopping the killing of wild buffalo found in the Yellowstone area. The buffalo are safe inside the park, however they can/are hunted outside of Yellowstone's park district.

Buffalo Exchange created a reusable tote to commemorate their 40th anniversary. For each tote purchased, they donate 50 cents to the campaign.

When & Where?

The airstream will be in Dallas on March 22, next saturday.

For my other U.S. readers, find the location and dates here.

Stay tuned for my next post about the event! Hope to see all you vintage loving Dallsites next Saturday!!
